Which Batteries Will the New DeWalt 18V to 20V Battery Adapter be Compatible With?

Back in September, Dewalt announced a pending release of a battery adapter that would allow users of the older, but still functional, 18V line of tools with 20V batteries.  Originally set to release in October, it will now be available for purchase some time in December, but, although a lot of eager 18V tool users excitement, it hasn't been very clear which 20V batteries will work with it.

Video Shows Construction Worker Fall From Roof, Land On Car, Then Get Up Unscathed

One of the most deadly accidents in the construction industry is a fall from heights, which is why there are so many OSHA regulations to prevent them.  It’s why temporary guard rails, flag warning systems on roofs, harnesses, and netting are required.  In the video below, you’ll see a construction worker who slipped off a second story roof land on a car, crushing the roof and back window.  Luckily, he was able to stand up immediately after the fall.  We recently shared a video of another man who failed to wear fall protection and was catapulted off of a boom lift, which you can watch here.

The 150 year old US Capitol building is currently undergoing its first restoration since 1960.  The famous domed building is packed with rusted ornamental cast iron elements and a host of hazardous materials.  The Architect of the Capitol has posted periodic updates of its progress throughout the project and the latest is a pretty cool timeline of the scaffold installation on the interior side of the Capitol Rotunda.

OSHA to Raise Penalties for First Time in 25 Years

The city of Detroit, Michigan and its surrounding areas have a historic past, but sometimes, to move forward, the past has to be destroyed.  Such was the case with Detroit’s 81 year old Park Avenue Hotel, which will make way for the Detroit Red Wings’ new arena, and now, the city of Marysville, Michigan has said goodbye to its 93 year old power plant, affectionately named the “Mighty Marysville.”

Concrete is great.  It’s strong, it’s got a long life, but then, it cracks and everyone is bummed out.  Cracking is not only an eyesore, but it leads to structural issues and leaks, among other issues.  Back in May, we wrote about a concrete additive that would allow the concrete to “heal” its own cracks and it’s got researchers pretty excited about the possibilities.
