Remember back to when you were a child, playing on your living room floor with hundreds of multi-colored Legos littering the area around you as you attempted to assemble your dream house. Now, imagine doing that as an adult, but for real. That’s exactly what the inventors of Kite Bricks hope to accomplish.
Backed by pending and issued patents, Kite Bricks is currently in the conceptual stage of their release of their “Smart Bricks,” which look and act very similar to the aforementioned Legos. These Smart Bricks are touted for their ability to be used in any circumstance, from bridges to buildings, and any location, from America to Asia. These bricks will be designed to fit your exact building need, insinuating as close to zero waste as humanly possible (at least on the structural part). This system even has easily removable, finished faces, so you wouldn’t be required to cover, prep, paint, or wallpaper any more walls. It also makes repairing broken water, sanitary, or electrical lines a breeze, just remove the panel and put back when complete, no patching necessary.
Kite Bricks also claims their product is superior in the world of energy saving, estimating a savings of 60%, due to its ability to redirect and trap heat. The embedded video below demonstrates exactly how the company sees the building process working, which, like it or not, shows a robot almost single handedly completing the building. More and more, it appears the future of humans in new construction will be very front loaded and heavy on computer modeling and design.
