Milwaukee Expands Line of Heated Gear, Provides 8 Hours of Heating on Those Frigid Projects

It may seem a little crazy to be talking about needing heated gear in the middle of August, but cold weather will be here before we know it.  Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean the schedules get any longer, so you need to find a way to stay productive by staying warm.

Milwaukee Tool, the subject of a lot of our recent articles (ONE-KEY, Drill/Drivers, Cordless Braking Grinder), has released a battery powered M12 3in1 Heated Ripstop Jacket, M12 Heated Ripstop Vest, and a redesigned women’s jacket as part of their fall line.  All are powered by a Milwaukee M12 REDLITHIUM 2.0 battery, which can provide up to 8 hours of heating on a single charge and are also compatible with over 70 different Milwaukee power tools.  The gear will have high, medium, and low settings to provide you the right amount of warmth for your conditions.

The M12 3in1 Ripstop Jacket comes with a heated hoodie and a Ripstop Shell to wear over the hoodie.  The hoodie is equipped with 3 carbon fiber heating elements that are distributed throughout the hoodie by an insulated liner.  The exterior is made of a water repellant and durable material for added protection.  The Ripstop Shell is made of a premium, heavy duty fabric designed for abuse on the jobsite and is also insulated and wind and water resistant, keeping the elements away from your body.

For those not in the coldest of climates, the M12 Ripstop Vest provides much of the same protection as the 3in1 jacket, like wind and water resistance and an exterior made of the ultra-durable Ripstop material.

The women’s jacket has been designed with 4 carbon fiber heating elements, which distribute the heat across the back, collar, and pockets.  Just like the men’s jackets, it’s also wind and water resistant, as well as insulated.

“The launch of M12™ Heated Ripstop Gear demonstrates Milwaukee’s continued commitment to redefining layering on the jobsite,” says Tom Simeone, Director of Product Marketing for Milwaukee Tool. “Drawing inspiration from extensive cold weather observation, we have integrated carbon fiber heating technology with ground up garment design, rugged Ripstop material, and heavy duty construction to deliver a 3in1 Jacket and Vest that set new standards in durability and performance in extreme conditions.

Construction has been designated as essential business in most areas of the country, but that doesn’t necessarily mean construction workers don’t have any risk of contracting or spreading the disease. Chances are, you’ve probably never washed your power tools before, because, well, tools are supposed to get dirty. But, in the time of an unprecedented pandemic, now might just be the time to start, as it might allow you to do your part in slowing the spread.

A Complete Guide to Milwaukee Tool’s M18 Battery Lineup
Aug 8, 2019

For years, Milwaukee has made it very clear that they will continue to keep their M18 platform as their core system.  Cordless tool users spend a ton of money into batteries these days, and the company’s goal is to not force them into investing into a new cordless system. That means that Milwaukee has to come up with innovative ways to provide the tools users want while being limited to 18 volts.

Review: Milwaukee M18 Radius Compact Site Light with Flood Mode
Jun 22, 2018

Proper lighting is one of the most overlooked things on a construction site.  Sure, most sites have some overhead lighting, but with a minimum of only 5 loot candles required by OSHA in general construction areas, there’s a lot left to be desired.  Milwaukee Tool is, by far, the leader in the construction lighting category based on shear volume and quality of their lighting solutions.
