The Liebherr T 282 C is one of the largest haul trucks in the world, in terms of payload capacity, and its assembly is no less impressive. In fact, the size of the haul truck requires a tower crane for final assembly. These mining trucks, due to their size, are not built like your normal sedan. There are nearly no stamped parts and every piece is welded together for strength and durability.

It is also an international affair, many of the parts come from Germany, Canada and the United States and the final assembly in this case takes place in Australia. The hauler itself without payload is over 237 tons and with a full load it can reach a total gross vehicle weight of over 600 tons. That means that the Lieberr T 282 C has the payload capacity equal to the weight of a Boeing 747.

The Komatsu 830E is a mining haul truck with a 255 short ton body capacity and a 2,461 HP engine. The gigantic truck measures roughly 46 feet in length, 24 feet wide, and 22 feet high. With a truck that size, it’s only really necessary for use in the mining industry, but it’s still pretty neat to get a glimpse of what it’s like to work inside a mega machine.

One of the most deadly accidents in the construction industry is a fall from heights, which is why there are so many OSHA regulations to prevent them. It’s why temporary guard rails, flag warning systems on roofs, harnesses, and netting are required. In the video below, you’ll see a construction worker who slipped off a second story roof land on a car, crushing the roof and back window. Luckily, he was able to stand up immediately after the fall.
