When Milwaukee Tool first released ONE-KEY, their Bluetooth-based tool tracking and reporting system, in 2015, they hoped to not only help reduce lost and stolen tools, but also increased visibility into maintenance needs. For the past few years, the company has continued to add more ONE-KEY enabled tools and software enhancements. Now, Procore has jumped on board and ONE-KEY has been integrated into their platform.
Self-performing and specialty contractors spend a large amount of money on tools and equipment, but currently have very little ability to actually monitor their use or location. While Bluetooth systems like ONE-KEY certainly have their limitations in range, the program also offers a database to log important tool inventory information, such as serial numbers and warranties.
In the integration, Procore users can send portfolio and directory data to ONE-KEY for automated creation of places and people. Reporting and alerts data from ONE-KEY can then be sent back to Procore’s Daily Log for automated daily reporting.
Procore has always been open to integrations with third party applications and there are currently over 100 integrations available in their App Marketplace. The integrations help fill gaps and reduce redundancies caused by having to use multiple programs.
“Managing tools, equipment and inventory on site is incredibly important to specialty and self perform contractors,” said Rusty Reed, Chief Strategy Officer at Procore, in a press release. “With this integration field personnel can now manage these assets and have confidence they are tied to the correct Procore project. Projects are linked between your Procore account and One-key so there is less setup to do when a new project comes on line.
