Sometimes we like things that we don’t really need but really want because they’re AWESOME. Perhaps this is one of those times, but I really can’t help myself this time.
Nemo Power Tools, a manufacturer of a number of pretty awesome power tools mostly designed for wet areas, has recently released the Nemo SPECIAL OPS power drill, which is catered towards those working in Special Forces. Translation: it’s super cool and I want one.
The SPECIAL OPS is coated with a tough black paint that’s salt water resistant and no logo, so you can work incognito. The drill will work in water up to 328 feet in depth (100m) and comes with a pressure valve and pump for pressurization. The tool comes complete with several accessories that you’ll obviously need, as well, like two 6Ah rechargeable batteries, a diving headlamp, a diving tool belt with tool bag, and a handy waterproof bag to keep your charger dry.
While you may not exactly need the SPECIAL OPS, having one of the other underwater drills handy could save some time in a plumbing emergency or if you’re working on a pool or your boat. Of course, it would also be fun just to get one and show it off to your friends.
The video below shows one of Nemo’s other underwater drills in action.

Those that follow tool news may have heard about a new Makita tool platform that launched in several other countries a few months ago and have been waiting for the news of it finally being released in the United States. Well, the wait is over, as the teal tool brand has finally announced the release of their 40V and 80V XGT system in the US.
